Watermaid Chlorinator with a YELLOW flashing light
What to do if your Watermaid Chlorinator has a YELLOW flashing light
A Watermaid chlorinator that has a flashing yellow light tells the home owner or pool professional that there is no current draw from the cell. In other words, something is wrong and the power supply cant get electrical power to the cell.
This fault must be corrected. In this condition your Watermaid unit is not producing chlorine.
What can cause this problem?
1/ The cell is plugged with calcium and needs to be cleaned. White scale deposits must be removed from the cell to maintain chlorine production. read more https://watermaid.ca/how-to-clean-you-watermaid-cell/
2/ There is a connection problem with the brass plug at the top of the cell.
Did you clean the cell and forget to insert the brass pin in the socket at the top of the cell?
Is the brass pin on the cell corroded?
1/ Unplug the brass plug at the top of the cell.
2/ Clean the brass pin with emery cloth or fine sandpaper.
3/ Clean the socket that the brass plug goes into as well.
4/ Lubricate the brass pin with dielectric grease. You can get it at any automotive place. It is used on car battery terminals
5/ Follow the grey cable on the cell to the bottom of the power supply box that hangs on the wall. Remove the single screw in the little black plastic cover that goes over the grey wire at the box. Check the brass screws for corrosion and make sure that they are tight. check all 6 screws.
I have tried all of this and still have a flashing yellow light. Now what?
If you still have a flashing yellow light after checking everything mentioned above, the most likely cause is a cell that has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced. https://watermaid.ca/how-to-install-the-watermaid-ez300-cell/
It could also mean that there is an internal fault with the power supply and it will need to be returned to Watermaid for repair
